Small business lending increases in May

The latest figures from the British Bankers' Association (BBA) show that lending to small businesses rose in May. According to the BBA's statistics, lending to small firms increased by £153 million in May, compared to April, while over 45,000 new small business banking relationships were established.

Who can doubt the data? However my clients experience shows a different picture with for example overdrafts reduced when up for renewal - even when business is trdaing well. Banks are also making it extremely difficult to get the new government backed loan scheme.
